We won the Salmon Derby for the 27th thru the 31st with A 37 lb round weight King, taking $1000 and the Saturday Bottomfish prize with a 32 lb Lingcod! The Lings seem like they are starting to bite a little again. Things were slow over the weekend with the weather change. Last fall was great Lingcod fishing. Yesterday the Salmon boats found some hungry Salmon again with two boats I heard of Limiting and another with 1 1/2 per Rod. We are going Tuna Fishing this week so our next Salmon opportunity will be on our Combo trip on Sunday or next Monday and Tuesday. We are looking foreword to some good fishing before the season ends on September 16th. Some of the Silvers are getting huge. Check out the recent BigUn photos. ~Ken |

Greetings from Westport and Happy New Year! 2007 Season Update: We will start fishing March 20 this year. We expect great spring Lingcod fishing again this year. March and April are the best months usually. Halibut season begins May 1st, If fishing is as good as last year you want to book now and plan on coming before May 15th as the quota will go quick if we have big fish again. We expect the Salmon quota to be similar to last year, beginning around July 1st. If the fish show up we could be done by mid August. Check back for updates. Two Tuna trips are available so far, check back for updates on more available dates after April 15th. ~Ken |

People always ask when the best time to come fishing is. The standard answer is "when they are biting", followed with "it changes every year". You can look back through the Captn's Log fishing report archives to spot trends here. |
