The 2004 season is over,  October 2nd ended up being our last trip.  I would like to thank all of you that fished with us this year or in the past.  Its you, our customers that keep me coming back to do this after 25 years.  I am looking foreword to seeing you all in 2005    ~Ken

10/2/04

Fall Lingcod fishing has picked up! We had 19 Lingcod for 14 people and a lot of them had their limits Saturday.  We also caught 9 more squid and we had limits of Yellowtail rockfish.  The weather has been great.  Lingcod fishing will only be open thru the 17th of October so I hope you can join us one of the next two weekends.   ~Ken

9/26/04

Well we lost a lot more than that Saturday to the weather.  We finally got out the 18th Salmon fishing,  and were bottom fishin both days this weekend.  The Ling fishin was a little slow Saturday and picked up on Sunday.  We had limits of Yellowtail Rockfish both days and four Lings and eight large Squid,  yes Squid, See the Big Un Photos between 10 and 20 lbs Saturday.  Today we had 8 Lings, 2 Cabazon and 2 Squid for 10 people.  Hope you can join us for a day on the Ocean soon.   ~Ken

9/9/04

Well our Coho Quota that the State said would last until September 19 did not.  Our last day to fish for Salmon out front and keep Native Coho, was last Monday. (It was great fun while it lasted)  We are able to fish South of Ledbetter Point for Salmon until the 30th of September or Quota.  The run to the Salmon Grounds is about two hours.  Our first trip down there last Wednesday  was Great with limits for the passengers and one for the crew. Over half were Kings ranging from just legal to a Weekly Derby leading 29 lbs 10 oz.  We can keep two Kings, however Native Coho must be released.  We caught Last weeks Derby Tuna winner, which is also the Season Leader at 38 lbs 6oz.  Bottomfishing remains productive with Limits of Yellowtail Rockfish and some nice Lings too.  It looks like we get this Saturday off due to Weather, however we will be fishing until mid October.  The fall weather can be the best of the year.  Check out the latest "Big Un" photos.    ~Ken

8/29/04

8/20/04

Starting  August 29 We will be able to keep ALL Silvers (Coho) fin clipped or not (natives or hatchery).  this will be the first time in years that we can keep two big hooknose wild Silvers each or two Kings if you are lucky enough to catch them.  Hope you can join us for some hot September hooknose fishing.       ~Ken

8/20/04

We had one salmon per person or better every day this week except for Tuesday!  If we could have kept the natives we would have had limits or very close to them.  We have had a third to almost all Kings depending on the day.  Tuesday we had 4 between 24 and 31 lbs.  Check out the new Big Un pictures.           ~Ken

8/16/04

The Salmon fishing keeps getting better!  We were only 5 fish short of limiting today for 23 people fishing, and we had the chances to get them many times over.  Around half were Kings ranging from just legal to 25 lbs.  The weather has been outstanding.    Bottomfishing continues to be good with limits of rockfish and 8 lings on Saturday and 3 lings and the Derby winner Friday.         ~Ken

8/10/04

The Salmon fishing definitely has picked up.  We had a slow day yesterday because the fish we had been fishing disappeared.  Today was one of the best days we have had yet, with 29 salmon for 19 fishing, 10 of which were kings.  four of the kings were over 20 pounds and we won the derby with a 39lb 7oz dressed weight fish taking the $500 prize for the day.  Yesterday we had a silver weighing in at 14 lbs dressed, just 3 oz shy of the season leader.  Bottomfishing continues to be good with limits of rockfish and a few lings.         ~Ken

8/6/04

The Salmon were snapping  last Wednesday!  We had a Hatchery retention problem so we had 19 fish for 18 fisherman on the boat.  Some boats limited,  we caught over 100 Salmon so the action was non stop. We had five nice kings Wednesday and Six on Thursday  although the fishing was slow again (weather change?) on Thursday.   I will keep you posted.      ~Ken

Salmon fishing is still slow.  We averaged one per person early in the week.  The last two days there have been some nice Kings in on the beach.  Some boats landed one per person, we had that many on, only half of them made it in the boat today.  They just kept coming off.  I think things should pick up next week.   ~Ken

7/3/04

Salmon fishing picked up a little last Thursday, we had 17 fish for 18 people who fished. 15 were Kings running 16 to 30 lbs and the largest at 30 lbs 9 oz took the derby.  Friday we had yellowtail rockfish limits and 10 lings despite the weather.  Today's bottomfishing trip (the last day to keep a Halibut for the year) we had the derby winning Halibut at 68 lbs and the derby winning lingcod at 21 lbs.  We had 19 lings for 12 people fishing and limits of yellowtail rockfish.  I will try to get the new Big Un pictures posted soon.         ~Ken

Halibut fishing is still Hot! We have the derby for the week so far with a 102 Lb Halibut and a 30 Lb Ling! Second biggest fish was around 60 lbs today with the smaller ones around 25 Lbs.  We also had over one around on Lings to go with the flat ones.  Weather has been fantastic.  Lots of spots open this Thursday and next week.  If its anything like last year I predict the first two weeks of June will be great Halibut fishing.  Limits of Black rockfish and limits and near limits of Lings last Friday and Saturday. ~Ken

The Halibut are biting good now and running mostly 25-50 lbs with a 75 pounder placing on the derby today.  We had plenty of time to fish for some Rockfish and Lingcod on the way home.  Hope you can join us for a day on the water soon.  ~Ken

5/14/04

Halibut fishing started out very slow this week, we did get limits of Rockfish or Lingcod to fill the bags though.  The last two days we had Halibut limits with fish running 20-51 Lbs. We had 20-30 Large Black Cod mixed in with them.  We stopped for some rockfish and lingcod on the way home also.  If you want an uncrowded Boat next week the trips are lightly loaded so far.  One of the boats caught a 108 Lb halibut last Sunday.  ~Ken

5/08/04

We had limits of Halibut every trip this week, running 15-40 Lbs and had limits of yellowtail rockfish or some lings on the way home every Halibut trip since opening day. We have seen some fish caught where we are fishing over 65 lbs already so the big ones are around. Bottomfishing Friday we had 20 Lings for 15 folks, and 9 on Saturday for 15 also, to go with rockfish limits both days. We won the weekly derby with a 26 lb Ling.  We Have live bait now for Bottomfishing.   ~Ken

Saturday we had limits of Yellowtail Rockfish and Lingcod.  Sunday we had limits of Halibut and great weather,  Most boats had time to Bottomfish afterward, Halibut are running 15-55 Lbs some Black cod mixed in.  Fishing was good enough to be selective. We have space available, only 14 people a trip, no rotating!   ~Ken

Saturday we had the $500 derby winner for the week with a 29'9 lb Lingcod that was hanging on to a 4 lb Black rockfish. Sunday we had limits of Yellowtail rockfish and Lingcod.  We are expecting a good Halibut opener next Sunday, folks have been catching some on Rockfish trips already!  ~Ken

4/10/04

We had the L's today!  Limits of Rockfish, Limits of Lingcod, & Lots of Sunshine!!  Today was another perfect day.  A lot of the Lings today were in the 10 - 18lb range.  If you want to go after Lingcod, this is the perfect time of year to come out and go fishing.  ~Ken

4/09/04

The Salmon season is set!  We will start Salmon fishing on June 27th.  The quotas are as follows:  Coho = 74,900.  Chinook = 30,800.  The Salmon season is scheduled to run Sunday thru Thursday until September 19th or until a quota is met.  Start planning your trip now to to reserve your spot on the Tequila Too.  Spaces will start filling up quickly.  ~Ken

4/07/04

Fishing has still been good for Lings and Rockfish.  Friday, Saturday and Sunday we got our limits both fish everyday.  Saturday we were the only boat to achieve that accomplishment and that was with almost a full boat as well.  Six Lingcod weighed over 15 lbs that day with the Big'un just topping the 20lb mark.  In other news, the Salmon season dates will be set the end of this week, check back then for the official start date so you can book your trip early.  We're expecting an excellent season with big six year old Kings, BUT probably only making to Labor Day until the King quota will be met and the season closes.  If you want to catch a BIG'UN King salmon, this is going to be one of the best years to have a chance for that.   Don't forget Halibut is starting May 1st with the biggest quota we've ever had in recent years.  Now is the time to go fishing!  See you on the water.  ~Ken

3/29/04

It was another beautiful weekend to be out on the water. We had rockfish limits both days on the weekend; the current was up so we only averaged 1 ling per person.  One of those lings would of been the season derby leader at 28 Lb 6 oz if it had a derby ticket.  That's why we always recommend to by your derby tickets.  We go after the derby fish and you never know when it might be you winning the weekly or season grand prize.  Derby tickets are only $5.00 and can be purchased when you check in for your trip.  That ling will be posted within the next couple days on the Big'un page so check back soon. ~Ken

3/22/04

We finally got our season started this last Saturday.  A good start it was.  Limits of Rockfish with an average of almost a ling and a half each on Saturday.  Sunday we came back with limits of Rockfish and Lings for everyone.  The big lings were in the 18 to 20lb range.  If this keeps up, it looks like it's going to be another fantastic year of Lingcod fishing.  Hope to see you out here soon.  The pictures will be posted soon of our first two big'un winners so keep checking back.  ~Ken

2/20/04

We are starting to get the boat ready for our March 13th opening day.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate this year and we can start this season off with a bang.  If the Lingcod bite like they did last year, then we are going to be in for another fantastic Lingcod season.  The Halibut quota's have now been set by the WDFW.  Click here for quota details. ~Ken
